Since I didn't like my site, I decided to change it. I hated how blocky it looked and how unpolished the contents looked. I changed the magenta to light pink. I changed the blocky text to softer text. I rearranged the home, about, and contact pages. I did this so my viewers would be captivated by how simplistic it looked. I created the header images so, it would frame my name and site name. I changed the titles to a dark purple. Overall, I like my site a lot more Images- made by me
To solve my VoiceThread and mic issue, I switched to my IPad. I pressed the screen record and enable mic option to record my presentation. Image- taken by me To edit my presentation I used my IMovie app. I honestly didn't know I had this but, it ended up helping me a lot. Image- taken by me The only thing I really edited was the length of my video. I recorded my video in segments and I just weaved them together to create one continuous video. I'm having some issues with using Voicethread, it seems like I have to upload a video first before I can start speaking. I'm also having issues with my computer's mic, the sound was coming out very grainy and it was picking up a lot of my background noise. So, I'm planning to to switch over my IPad and figure it out from there. I'm kind of frustrated because I made a plan to use Voice Thread and Emaze but, I didn't end up using it because of technology issues. Either way I'm hoping I can finish it by today because my goal was to have it completed by Monday.
Image- Image taken by me It's day two of my presentation process, I have finished a majority of the slides. Im just missing a few textboxes and pictures. So far, this process has taken me about 3 days to make this. Day 1, was drafting and researching. Day 2, was creating the PowerPoint and Canva slides. Day 3, it just adding text and images. From this 3 day process I learned that I should have done a better job of staying organized. Since I switched between 3 devices, I noticed that I was missing a few things. My Chromebook had a majority of my planning documents and notes. The only issue was finding them. In the beginning of my magazine process, I didn't save the drafts in one folder. I had them mixed in with other school assignments. Therefore, I struggled a few hours just retrieving them. I'm glad that I organized my HP computer and IPad because it made easier to find my TOC and Two Pager pictures. I hope to finish this presentation by tomorrow morning because I still need to create my voice over. The only issue I'm anticipating is sound quality. I'm worried that my computer won't be able to pick up my voice and that I will have to rerecord multiple sessions. Overall, its been a tough presentation process.
Images- I made this myself on Canva I'm currently in my presentation process. I'm reviewing my revision images and I'm inserting the most important drafts. Right now, I'm noticing that my presentation is a little longer than I was planning. I realized that I needed to be more careful of what images I put in because I know that long presentations make people lose interest very quickly. So far, this process is taking me a few hours and I keep deleting and adding new slides. I think my main concern right now is making it look pretty and visually interesting. Making this presentation has inspired me to change my blog a bit more. Right now it looks very boring and uninteresting. I think I'm going to do a future post about me changing it. Below are some example slides I created in Canva... Images- I made this myself on Canva
I decided to use PowerPoint instead of Emaze. I liked the format of PowerPoint much more because I usually use it for my school projects. I created my templates on Canva. I looked through the templates section and I really liked the layouts of 'Pink and Cream Illustration Social Science Class Education Presentation'. I edited them to fit my presentation. I deleted some of the text and changed the color palette. I did this because I want my presentation to be aesthetically pleasing. Below are some of my edited templates. Im planning to add cursive and crayon text because I want my presentation to mimic the appearance of notes. I also think it will make my presentation more feminine like magazine pages. Im going to create more templates to show off my creative process. For my text, I'm going to bullet point my critical reflection so, it's easy to follow. I want to avoid creating blocks of texts because I heard it reduces people's attention span and it's overwhelming to follow.
Images- Drawn by me As of right now, I just finished brainstorming some ideas for my presentation. Above are the notes I took while looking through different programs. I decided to use Canva comic strip, Emaze, Powerpoint, and Voice thread to create my project. I read through my reflection and predicted how many slides each paragraph would take. Overall, I think this note taking helped me clear my mind a bit. It helped me visualize how my Powerpoint would look. I want it to match my magazine and for the presentation to have lots of pinks and visuals. After this I'm planning to go through my magazine folders and pull the most important pictures so, I can explain my reflection.
Images- taken from Pinterest While looking through some of my cover files, I saw this updated moodboard I made around the I switched my color palette. At the time, I made it half heartedly because I didn't know for sure if I wanted to go with a more feminine look or androgynous look. I didn't have a clear direction of where I was going and I just compiled images that interested me. In the end, my cover does resemble this mood board because it has golden hour images and a more feminine look to it.
